BIRDS

Image
BIRDS                                    Birds are awesome!! Like, I know I say that for every animal, but like I can't help it. Anyways there are many types of birds and it'll probs take a lifetime to list don the bunch. So here goes, 1. SHOEBILL  No, it's not a shoe or a restaurant bill. It's a bird (GO FIGURE). It looks... MAJESTIC!!. It's also known as the whale-headed stork, poor guy, probably gets picked on by the tough eagles. But this thing actually looks like a dinosaur and they eat fish, it looks almost like a pelican but has slightly blue tinted skin. The photos of this thing is wild, loos like something out of Jurassic park. First picture: About to rule and dominate the world Second picture: When your mom tells an embarrassing story to your aunt. 2. SECRETARY BIRD This bird is f...

A Trip To The Past: Creatures That Went Extinct

Image
We all know that the ocean hasn't been discovered to its extent. Creatures that live deep in the Marina Trenches that would probably shock the world are yet to be discovered. Now, shall we look at some extinct creatures that would've wiped the human population if they had survived the unexpected.... (Gaw-Damn, that was dramatic) 1. THE MEGALODON 'The Megalodon'. I'm pretty sure everyone has heard of this giant before. This creature as probably as big as an entire CARGO SHIP! Nah, I'm kidding, its probably bigger. So, hypothetically if this creature were to be brought back by scientists (which, believe it or not, they are actually trying to bring back) it would wipe out human existence. Can we please acknowledge the fact that e are trying to bring it back to life. ITS EXTINCT FOR A REASON!. If they perhaps bring it back hen I'm in my 20s then I can kiss marine biology goodbye. Ain't no way am I swimming in the Maldives or Bahamas with this creature lurkin...

How plastic pollution affects oceans

Image
🌊  How plastic pollution affects oceans 🌊   Ok, I actually fear the future of our generation, like not by intelligence but by the condition of our planet. "How are we gonna survive?" is the biggest question right now faced by human-beings. We all talk about saving the environment and cleaning LAND (stressing the word), we can shift the glory to the ocean for once. The ocean plays a significant part in our life, providing most of Earth's oxygen, yes not trees but the ocean (I'll talk about it in detail later). Obviously, tremendous efforts have been made but we can all agree that there is more waste in the ocean than we can take out. And there are ways we can stop this, but everyone's efforts must be contributed. I know you have heard about this topic probably a million times in your life, but let's face it. Throwing a piece of trash in the garbage is better than wearing an oxygen mask in the future.  Factor 1: Plastic Pollution          Mo...

Bioluminescent Creatures: Meet Nature’s Living Lanterns”

Image
Fireflies, Bioluminescence, and Jellyfish: Meet Nature’s Living Lanterns  Fireflies, are super pretty, making not only for good photos but also for the environment. Just imagine a cozy night by the campfire eating smores with nature all around you (you might get eaten by a bear but whatever)  This post is dedicated to things that glow, literally, not metaphorically and I read about something that will knock you're socks off. It's the substances that makes these thing glow, I've mentioned it in my 'Weird Sea Creatures' post. It's... (drumroll please) bioluminescence. It's a chemical reaction emitted by organisms and can produce their own light, pretty cool huh? 76 percentage of sea animals can produce their own light which kinda makes sense they live deep underwater and need light to survive. Have you ever seen those cool beaches where people throw rocks in the sea (ouch, that's offensive) and it starts to glow like neon dark blue. That's and example...

The Role of Bees in Nature – Why We Must Protect Them

Image
The Role of Bees in Nature – Why We  Must   Protect Them  Every morning, you wake up (or not) and make your tea, you might add sugar, lemon or honey. Honey comes from the very insect which gives Earth life (kinda). Bees only live for 15-38 days which is not much, summer break is longer than a bee's life I'll tell you that much, but bees work hard they're entire life. All worker bees  are females, which I didn't know until today. I guess that makes a lot of sense, hehe. When they are born, they are taken care of by some worker bees like a nursery center. Then when they.... hatch? IG, they learn how to become a worker bee and collect pollen and make honey. This will probably change the way you think but honey is actually um... bee spit so..... have fun with that. A single bee only makes 1/12th of a tea-spoon in it's lifetime which is sad. The bee population is decreasing fast and we aren't doing much. Ok some people are doing a lot but the least we can do...

Whale Wisdom: Exploring the World of Whales

Image
Whale Wisdom: Exploring the World of Whales      First of all let me get this straight, I love whales. Even though Tiger Sharks are my favorite animal of all time, whale are up there. But I wish that we could see them often, cause they look like they could pull all your secrets out of you, with those eyes. And um... no whales don't fly, pictures can be misleading but I just took this just for the aesthetic. I really hated the 1960s where people would capture whales, quote on quote "for fun". Anyways let's look at the life of a whale and some unique whales that are EXTREMELY rare!  Life Of The Monstrosity known as the WHALE!  The life of a whale starts like any other marine animal, being born into this world and finally opening its eyes to see the dangers and miracles that lie at it's  feet fins. It depends on its mother at the early stages of life and learns the ways and skill it takes to become a whale, independant to find its own food, fend ...

Nature Journal: Capture Your Experiences in a Journal

Image
Nature Journal: Capture Your Experiences in a Journal Nature Journals are awesome, especially if you live next to a bunch of vegetation, and if you don't know what a Nature Journal is, then let me enlighten you, it's a book where you put down all of nature info. For example, it can be about different types of leaves and hand drawn illustration about flora and fauna (printing is also an option) It could be about your experiences with nature, camping or just a funny story when you went on a road trip with your family. Anyways if you're still feeling stuck, then let me show you how far the road goes. Step 1: Grab (or buy) a green or brown journal. (this isn't necessary but just for the aesthetic) You could customize the cover by sticking um... stickers and make it look aesthetic. The theme is your wish, you could choose vintage or aesthetic vibes. Step 2: Yank a black pen and draw a border on the THIRD page (1st is your details (name, contact blah, blah) and 2nd is the ...

Under The Abyss: Meet The Ocean's Weirdest Animals

Image
Under The Abyss: Meet The Ocean's Weirdest Animals    Have you ever gone to the beach?, got a whiff of the salty air, gone barefoot on the prickly sand, built sandcastles which don't stand more than a few seconds before the boundless oceans sweeps it away. If you have, then you probably really enjoy it or really hate it, there is NO in-between in those two categories. While I was jogging across the coastline, I stopped to ponder for a minute, what IS actually under the ocean, if there are microorganisms on the land, then there must be some in the water as well. There are a lot of animals that live on the Earth, and we see them often because we humans are a part of Earth as well, but how many creatures are actually there in the oceans that we are yet to know?, because we can't survive for a long time without breathing, there are oxygen tanks but we still need to refill them regularly. However, there are still some creature that we study about and come across (somet...
